Usage Quotas
ai.KMITL includes a generous weekly platform usage quota for every account. This quota is based on model usage, not message count.
Included Usage

How Usage Is Counted
Built-in OpenRouter-backed models deduct usage after a successful response. If a model response fails, is aborted, or does not return usage metadata, no quota is charged.
Model selection shows a simple tier:
- Cheap: lowest preflight reserve
- Medium: moderate preflight reserve
- High: highest preflight reserve
The tier is only a before-request reserve and display label. The final deduction uses successful OpenRouter usage metadata.
Checking Your Quota
The quota indicator shows only the percentage remaining.
In Settings -> Usage, you can still review token activity, request volume, and model breakdowns.
Reset Schedule
Quotas reset automatically:
- Date: Every Monday
- Time: 00:00 Bangkok time
- New quota: Back to the weekly included allowance
- Unused quota: Does not roll over
What Happens at the Limit
When your remaining quota cannot cover the selected model tier reserve:
- New built-in OpenRouter requests are blocked.
- Existing conversations remain available.
- You can still manage settings, folders, and previous chats.
- You can continue with BYOK or wait for the next weekly reset.
BYOK
BYOK requests use your own provider key and do not deduct the included platform quota. See BYOK Guide for setup.
Fair Use
The included quota is for individual academic and work use. Automated bulk processing, account sharing, reselling access, or system abuse are not allowed.
Account Sharing
Each account is for individual use only. Do not share your login credentials.
Strict Consequences
Any user found sharing accounts or violating the fair usage policy may have their account suspended.
FAQs
Can I buy more quota?
Not currently. Use BYOK for additional usage or wait for the weekly reset.
Do failed responses count?
No. Failed, aborted, or missing-cost responses are not charged.
Can users see the exact quota amount?
No. Users only see the percentage remaining. Admins can see exact operational usage for management.
Does quota differ by user type?
All KMITL users receive the same included weekly usage unless an admin adjusts a specific account.
